Out with the old and in with the new! As is usual at the end of the year, I’m really excited about moving into a new planner! I posted my planner and journals set up for 2018 before, and if you’ve read that, you would know I am such a sucker for Japanese planners. Once the new planner lineup for the different brands was announced, I was ready to just order another Hobonichi Weeks. Then I had the weirdest idea to try out the Jibun Techo. I knew it was quite popular. I almost grabbed one in Loft (Tokyo) back in 2019, but I wasn’t fully informed about it then, so I decided to do a little research. I watched the JetPens videos below for research. I liked what I saw and ordered the First Standard Mini Kit B6 Slim.
It has been more than 8 years since the last time I performed on stage as part of a choir. It has been such a blessing to be part of the Nawtingales this year. Amidst the pandemic and what a year 2020 has been, I finally get to do something I have loved for years!
So here’s what happened, I went on a week-long break from work for my mental health. That actually meant I was planning on Netflix knitting or playing games on my Switch for the whole week. By Thursday of that week, I was already bored and wanted to switch things up. I remembered I have The Sims installed on my laptop (purchased it around 2017, I think), decided to update it and the page for this was the first thing I saw:
Oh, here we are again at everyone’s favorite time of the month: the monthly sales for both Shopee and Lazada. Now that we’re all stuck at home, payday sales have shifted to monthly sales on online e-commerce platforms. And as a sign of coping with anxiety, I fell victim or nabudol na naman because of the hefty discounts brought to you by vouchers, boredom, and consumerism. So here I am, sharing with you the skincare and beauty items I purchased from Shopee. * whispers to self: I swear these purchases were justified. *
It’s been quite a while since I posted anything here in my blog. Let’s be honest, the past few months was hard for everyone. The uncertainty of the situation, the abrupt change in lifestyle, and the impact on health and the livelihood of most people are not something we can ignore. It affected all of us. I felt that writing about any of the things I like to write about: beauty, skincare, and my crafts were just so petty. And in all the stress of this, I kind of let myself go. I was more worried about balancing working full time from home again and still spending enough time with my husband. Or doing things to “escape” the stress like watching Kdramas or playing games non-stop in my free time. Makeup and skincare were probably the last on my list of things to think about.
But after realizing that I also needed to take care of myself, I decided to pick myself back up last month and restart my skincare journey. I now think of my dedicated skincare time as a “reward” for staying strong and doing my best given the situation. The amount of dry, flaky skin and clogged pores, and the fact that I am almost in my last year of my 20s was a wake-up call. I present to you, dear reader, my current list of products and my skincare routine.
Update as of August 14, 2020: They released a new set of brushes with better handles and embossing on the handles. This review is for the original set of brushes released in 2018. You can view the new and updated brush set in Anne Clutz’s video here.
Yey, I finally got my hands on these! These brushes get sold out real fast once released on Lazada or Shopee. It just shows how much love and support Anne Clutz receives from her followers!
I pre-ordered my brushes from their official Instagram page last July 2018. I have been using these for almost a year now. Read on to read my thoughts about these brushes.
Quick update on my current skincare products! Most of these are repeats from last year and includes some new items from my Tokyo haul.
I finally had the time to unpack everything from our Japan trip two weeks ago. I’ll be sharing all the skincare and beauty stuff I was able to fit in our luggage and some cute things (mostly Gudetama) that I found. This post does not include my stationery haul (Hobonichi and Traveler’s Factory) because I haven’t taken photos of those yet. Beware: it’s quite a lot, I may never even need to buy anything makeup or skincare related for the whole of 2019.
Oh, the hype for this product is real. When the marketing photos started popping up on Instagram, I knew this would sell out fast. Sunnies Face officially launched online last August 08, 2018 and sold out within 2 hours. Luckily, I got my hands on one shade: 143. I ordered mine from Lazada on the day of the launch and got it on Friday so I was able to test it out during the weekend. Is this product really worth the hype? Read on to know my thoughts!
Here it is my first completed project for the year! This is not the first project I finished knitting. I have a tendency not to finish off (aka weave in the ends) any of my knitted projects. Surprisingly, this has the most ends to weave in, and I just happened to weave them all in!
