Packaging

Box

This comes in a white box packaging that is very minimal, yet very detailed. Around the box, you can read the ingredients list as well as instructions on how to use it.

Jar

The product itself housed inside a glass jar with a black screw on top that has the Bobbi Brown logo embossed on the lid. The label on the jar itself is very minimalist looking. The packaging looks and feels luxurious. It’s one of those products that you would display on your vanity because it’s just so pretty.

My current shelf

I placed it on a rotating shelf with my other favorite face base products.

My Experience

The mouth of the jar is not that wide, and I use a small, clean spatula to reach inside. When I use it, I make sure to scoop up a tiny amount. A little product goes a long way.

Inside the jar

From inside the jar, the cream looks super thick. However, once applied it’s very light-weight. It makes my face feel so smooth and hydrated. It contains algae extract which is known for retaining moisture.

It has a perfumey scent which I scared me at first because I’m allergic to strong smells. It’s not a really strong scent, but it’s definitely there when you first apply it. Once you spread around your face, it’s gone.

It’s a great multitasking product. It acts and feels like a pore-feeling filling primer. Foundation or even just powder looks really good on it. Because this is a product released by a well-known makeup brand, you just know that will layer well under makeup. Applying foundation while it’s still drying will result in a more dewy finish.

I’ve been using this for over a month now, and I didn’t experience any breakouts or irritation. My skin just loves this.

My biggest gripe about this is, apparently, the price. It’s expensive!

Verdict

PROS
  • Light-weight and absorbs into the skin fast.
  • It keeps my skin hydrated all day.
  • It doubles as a primer and layers well under makeup.
  • It did not cause any breakouts or dried out my skin more.
  • A little product goes a long way.
NEUTRAL
  • The jar packaging is not the most hygienic.
  • It has a slight scent/fragrance on first application.
CONS
  • Let’s be honest, this is not the most affordable face cream out there.

Will I repurchase?

Yes. Although I still have a few other products that I want to try out, this one feels like a staple already. I wouldn’t even try to risk a day without it.
